“As You Grow Up” Sign

I’m so glad that I get to make stuff for other people!  It is such a compliment when I receive a custom order.  Being the big time crafter that I am … Word has gotten around that I am the "go to person" for making custom things.  A friend of mine asked if I could put this quote onto some wall art for her.  With the help of {SWAINSTON VINYL & DEZIGN}  I was able to make this snazzy piece!  It’s a pretty substantial size, 12 inches wide by three feet tall.  I'm lovin' it.

DIY Sock Monkey Cell Phone Case

I am sad and excited that Christmas is over; excited because the new year is just right around the corner and I have a ton of ideas swarming in my head.  Ready to tackle some projects!!

As you might know, I am a little obsessed with sock monkeys.  I took a simple black iPhone case and added a sock monkey scrapbooking embellishment to the case.  I was a little worried about the wear and tear of the embellishment; but actually, it has held up pretty well.  Found this one at Hobby Lobby … Of course, my favorite crafting store.

Pittsburgh Steelers Quilt Throw Blanket

I was trying to win over my boyfriend’s Mom with this quilt … Haha! Not really, I totally made it out of love and besides, she already loves me … Who doesn’t?!?!  She is a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and I knew should would appreciate this.  I’m pretty sure this blanket is one of the most fabulous items that I have made.  It is so much better looking in person.
I got all the fabrics from Joann’s.  Using a mixing and matching technique, I laid them out on the floor and took a picture of the layout with my iPhone.  Having the picture for reference was really helpful since there wasn’t a specific pattern.  Each square is 6” x 6” (I think … Or it’s 5” x 5”).

Personalized & Custom Patchwork Bean Bag

{OMG} {OMG} {OMG} This is so stinkin’ freakin’ fabulous!! Remember the {PINK & DAMASK CRIB SET} that I made? Well, my customer ordered a patchwork bean bag using some of the left over fabrics.  What a great idea, right?!  Especially with the personalization.  I want to make a million of these!  Definitely going to making a Texas A&M bean bag for my friend’s son.

I used Simplicity pattern, number 5105. I cut out the bean bag pattern using a heavy weight interfacing and then sewed the patchwork pieces to the interfacing.  I followed the pattern directions as given; except I added a zipper to the bottom piece of the bean bag.  Sewing the actual bean bag together was super easy; the patchwork was a little time consuming but totally worth it.  WARNING: If you buy this pattern- this bean bag is HUGE!! The bean bag wasn’t even full and we purchased (2) $15 bean bags from Walmart for the insides.  I was a little disappointed that the pattern didn’t tell me how much filling to buy.  For the next one, I am going to cut up the purchased bean bag and use it as my pattern since it is smaller.

Gold Skinny Christmas Tree

Last year I wanted to change my tree from red and gold to brown and gold, also I wanted to get a tall and skinny tree.  Life got busy, time got away from me and I didn’t end up with the brown and gold tree.  However, everything worked out because my church needed ornaments and I was able to donate the red and gold.  This year, I am on top of things!! I was able to get the tall and skinny tree; as well as, new brown and gold ornaments.  Everything was up before I left for the Thanksgiving holiday.  I cannot stand a bare tree …. As you can tell from looking at my pictures.  The more ornaments, the better!!

The stem of the Christmas tree wasn’t tall enough for the pot; cement was the fix!
The base of the tree is able to stand on the cement in the pot.

Glitter Deer

I whipped up this glitter deer for my boyfriend’s house.  He needed a little Christmas cheer in his house.  I like the look of the girly glitter with the manly deer.  What’s not to love about glitter?!  This is just a piece of cardstock with glue and glitter; simple but still fabulous!

Felt Cookies

I don’t have much to say about these and I almost didn’t post them because they seemed to be a wee bit cheesy. … However, they are hilarious too!  FELT COOKIES!  My Mom made these and took them to work; everybody thought they were real until they opened the package.  We saw this idea at our local fabric shop, {HIP STITCH STUDIO}.

Ruffled Kitchen Towels

I owe all of my creativity to my super fabulous Mom! She is amazing at everything she does and she can out sew me any day of the week!  She whipped up all of these ruffled Christmas towels to give away as Christmas gifts.  She had enough scrap material to finish all of these; all she had to purchase was the actual towel for just a few dollars.

This first set, she made for herself …. Of course.  They are a little over the top and I don’t think that trim came out of the scrap pile.

JOY Apothecary Jars and Office Decor

All of my Christmas decorations are unpacked and out.  I decorate my house, my office and the church tree.  Here are a few of the decorations from the office.  I decided to take my {HANDMADE APOTHECARY JARS} to the office for one of our bookcases.  I spray painted chipboard letters from Hobby Lobby and added a few mints to each jar.  Simple and very cute!

Mr Christmas Sock Monkey is hangin’ out on the shelf.  Ack! I love sock monkeys!

I found this container in Round Top a few years ago; I just love this thing!
I like to mix the glitter floral picks with the rustic wood of the container.
CHRISTMAS OFFICE (7)

After spending four hours decorating the tree at the church, I decided not
to decorate the trees at the office.  They’re twiggy trees and do not really
require decorations, so I just decided to keep it simple with a red bow.

Red Burlap Table Runner

Last Christmas season I purchased red burlap for a table runner and never got around to making it.  This year I am on top of things and got it finished! Well … I am totally not where I want to be when it comes to my Christmas crafting list (it seems to be never ending), but I have completed a few projects.

This table runner is just like my {FALL TABLE RUNNER}.  I am in love with the big ruffle at the bottom of the runner; simple but still fun.  You know I stink at directions, so {HERE} is a link for a tutorial.
