10 Days Of Scrapbooking: Day 6

King's side of the family during Christmas.  Let me tell you the story behind the "#1 GIFT" One of my BFF's husbands received it from his brother.  She begged me to take it away from her house.  I knew it would be perfect for King's little brother.  It was totally a hit within the Boyd family; they are a really funny family.  If your are looking for a gag gift,  Jingle Jugs are awesome! You should see the way they move when they are turned on, HILARIOUS!

10 Days Of Scrapbooking: Day 5

Half way done! Whoop!! Christmas Day on my side of the family.  Okay, the actual pictures aren't as blurry as they look in the picture of the layout.  My Mom and I live in separate towns and ended up buying the same Christmas fabric for the aprons that we each made.  Great minds think alike!  I really like this bird, it totally reminds me of my Mom.

10 Days Of Scrapbooking: Day 4

I have three Christmas pages to finish; therefore, for the next three days I will be posting Christmas! Yay! I love Christmas!   Of course, I have to scrap my English Bull Terrier, Pearl.  Hey, I don't have any children, so scrapping the dogs it is.

10 Days Of Scrapbooking: Day 3

I know you can't really tell, since this is a picture of a pictures, but these two pics are really good.  They are my Dad's dogs.  Case and Queenie.  As you can tell, I am not much into journal-ing.  Mainly because I am a bad writer, I can barely write effectively for the blog! LOL

10 Days Of Scrapbooking: Day 1

Ty is King's cousin's baby and he is the first Great Grandchild for King's family.  He is the center of attention during the holidays and I love taking pictures of him.  Oh how I {heart} him, so he makes it into the book.

Protein Balls YUMMY!

I have totally been wanting to make some protein granola bars, so when I came across these Protein Balls over at Little Apartment on the Prairie, I knew I had to make some!  Her recipe is perfect! I love how you can mix & match the ingredients.  I used, peanut butter, honey, oats, dried cranberries, chocolate chips, wheat germ and protein powder.  The dried cranberries and chocolate chips went in the food processor and I used a little less peanut butter.  Mix everything up and roll into balls, BAM! That's it.  It is so easy and they are really tasty!

Towel Holder Turned Necklace Holder

I'm a Texas girl and Texas girls love their BLING! Of course, anything big and chunky is what we love.  And we love lots of it!!  I have lots of it!!  Mrs. D had a great idea on storing necklaces and I knew I need one too!  She looks at things in different ways since she makes fabulous jewelry!  It's nice to have her as a friend because we trade sewing for jewelry.
I know most of you out there get a little spray paint happy with antique heirloom white and yes, this is something that could definitly be spray painted for any decor.  However, be sure to hang necklaces on the back side, so it doens't tip forward.

Initial Pillow

Initial pillows seem to be all the rage these days.  I knew that I had to make myself one especially since I have ordered new bedding for the master bedroom.  Remember, I put the old master bedding to the guest bedroom.  I have been working on making (6) throw pillows and need to purchase fabric for the curtains.
I was able to find this vase/candle holder dealy-o at HL for 60% off!!  Oh I can't wait to place it on my new dresser that is due in any day.

Tote Bags

Everyday I carry a tote bag to work with additional items; I guess you could say I use it like a briefcase.  Anytime I get a new purse, I make a new tote bag to match the purse.  I had some extra fabric from a current project that I am working on and it just so happens that the fabric matches my new purse.  Don't you just love it when that kind of thing happens! I do!!

Remember the trim from the lampshade at my Mom's?
I had to have some for this tote bag!
Even made a rossette! One of my best! :)
After all of the black tote bags I made, I had an extra one.
I went ahead and made it up for one of my friends.

Mom's House

I was at my parent's house over the Fourth of July weekend and every time I walk through the door it feels like home.  My mom has such a great way of always decorating for the seasons and holidays.  She doesn't get into the 4th decorations but she does do a fabulous arrangement on her table for summer time.  I totally wish my house was the size of hers.  She is currently redoing the master bedroom with the new "blue" color that  has become so popular.  Here are a few pics of my favorite things and some of the master redo.
My mom has had a collection of birds since before they
were the "in" decor item! LOL  I love seeing the birds mixed in with the moss.
Oh how I wish I had a table this big! We even sit at this table and eat;
we just move the stuff we aren't using to the side.
I LOVE this trim!! I HAD to have some!! I purchased some for an upcoming project! :)
For around $500 my Mom was able to make a King size duvet, (4) pillow shams,  and (5) throw pillows and curtains for two windows.  All of which have really nice cording and the curtains have really nice fringe like what is on the lamp.  I think she saved quite a bit of money because most of the bedding sets we priced were over $400 for just the duvet, shams, and dust ruffle.  A dust ruffle wasn't made because the bed doesn't need one.  I didn't take a picture of the entire bed because all of the pillows weren't made.

Jazzed Up Drying Towel

I hand wash most of our dishes.  It seems easier whenever King is out of town for me to hand wash the few dishes that I dirty by myself.  I takes a really long time for only one person to fill up the dishwasher!  Most of the time I have a towel sitting on the counter for drying dishes.  I saw a post where a lady jazzed up her towel to accommodate the size of her counter and decor.  I knew I had to make one especially since I had some apron fabric left over, which I LOVE!  Even made some decorative towels to match.  I put a nappy towel on the inside for some extra absorbency.

Yeah, I am terrible at remembering and saving where I saw ideas.  If this is your idea, PLEASE let me know so I can give you credit!  I have finally developed a way to save ideas with the blog name from where I got it!!

Baby Explosion #2

All of my friends, as well as, my friend's friends are having babies! It's that time in our lives for a full blown baby explosion.  Here are a few gifts that I whipped up!

I found this tutorial for the wipe case snuggies over here somewhere that I can't remember.  Ahhh, I am so terrible at that! If this is your idea, let me know!!  I used a 3" piece of elastic and threaded it through a tube of fabric that was a wee bit wider than 3".  You can slip the snuggie over any case.
I found this crystal iron on at HL.  I think it is absolutly adorable! Disclaimer: My "future" baby!! LOL
