I Am A Redneck : Using Vinyl
While I was scrapping, I had the Cricut out and I decided to get out some vinyl to whip up a quick project that has been on my to do list for while now. I am a crazy dog lady; have two silly English Bull Terriers and one tiny Chi-Wow-Wow. All three of them have a kennel and since their Mom is a crazy “crafty” dog lady, they must have jazzy dog name plates for their kennels. I used paper and vinyl on pieces of wood that I purchased at HL, and zip tied them to the kennel . . . Kinda redneck, but keep scrolling down . . .
I can’t believe I actually did this. I had new pack of lighters laying on my craft table and was getting ideas on vinyl. {Yes, I am a smoker… don’t judge! LOL} Put the two together and you get super snazzy lighters! I even added some rhinestones! I know, I am wack otherwise known as, super redneck! The last one is an English Bull Terrier!

Headboard Finished
I was able to start and finsih the headboard on Saturday. I am very excited about how it turned out. Exactly the way I expected it to!
Shanty 2 Chic has some great projects using the RL glaze.
I love the sanded and then stained look!! I could've gone with out it,
but I wanted just a little extra dimension to the head board.
Ginger watches as I paint.
So for about $45 I got a new headboard & footboard with frame! Not bad, considering a new frame alone is $45 and used metal bedframes are $20 on CL. Ahhh I can't wait to put this in the guest bedroom!! It is going to look so fabulous!! I won't be able to do a room reveal for another two weekends. The roomie moves out this weekend and then my mom is bringing me a mattress and boxframe the following weekend. Which gives me even more time to craft up more things!! I leave with a depressing but funny picture of Pearl. (Depressing because I wish my yard didn't look like this!! LOL)

Where I Create
I decided to replace a few of the decorations in my craft room, NOT that it was bad. Mainly what I wanted to was replace my ribbon holder and clear off my work surface. My counter top/work surface is L shaped and sometimes I have two projects going on at once; I need as much "working" space as possible. Also, I can't stop buying ribbon!!! You can never have enough. Here it is.
Keeping your craft room clean and neat is essential. At least, for me it is. For some reason my mind will not work if I am in a messy area. I have found that if I keep things labeled with cute tags, it makes me want to keep my room neat and clean. I know it doesn't look like I have a lot of supplies, but that is because I don't. I clean out my craft closet, supply baskets and ect twice a year. Come on- you know you're never going to use some of that cheesy stuff that was on clearance. LOL Also, I try real hard not to buy tools that I am not going to need. Especially since I have the Cricut, it does so much!!
I am really greatful that I am able to have a whole room dedicated to my crazy craftyness. I remember my Mom always laying out her fabric on the kitchen floor to cut out a pattern and sewing at the dining room table. She never had her own space, however, you should see her room now!! She doesn't have any kids at home so her room is constantly having a project or two or more like FIVE. Going to paint the bed this weekend and do a little sewing. I leave you with the two pictures of my bullies that are hanging in my craft room. Yes, they are Photoshop'd.

Check Out These Ideas!!
I am not sure what these cone things are called but I really like them!! I finally found one at Micheal's for 50% off, and added some flowers from HL that where also 50% off. A nice wall decoration for around $15!! It really adds a nice touch to our master bedroom without being too girly for King.
I don't have my own project to share with you today, but I wanted to share some of these great ideas that I have come across! Maybe give you some inspiration to get a little crafty!!

Oh how I wish I had a little girl, wait .. . did I just type those words?! I think they did!! LOL I only think I want children when I see stuff like this. Okay moms, I know what your thinking, you don't have time to make this! Two words that moms should live by: effective and efficient. With that being said, you should get all the stuff together to make one for your own daughter, and then make 2-3 more for bithday gifts that you can keep on hand. No more fretting about going out to buy a gift, you daughter can help, and I bet this project only costs about $10-12 to make! Check it out over at It's Greener Over Here!

Bull Terriers: Curtis and Pearl
As I walk through the front door this evening a catch a faint wiff of dog sh*t. Yeah I said it, dog poo!!! Ugghhh, it must be the worst poop to have to smell. Makes me want to gag and throw up. Why did I smell dog poo? Because Curtis shat in his pen. Not sure why he did this since this is NOT common practice for him. Guess he didn't like the fact that I had to go buy a new pair of sunglasses and was a little later than normal getting home. Due to this incident, I decided to introduce you to my two silly bull terriers. (Also, let me explain that both of our dogs stay kenneled all day, so no poop made it into the house, only in his pen. We also have the dogs in the oversized converted garage utility room which does not have carpet.)
King has always want a "Curtis" You probably wondering what a "Curtis" is . . .well a Curtis is a Bull Terrier. Ever since I have known King (even before we started dating six years ago) he has wanted a Curtis. Everytime King saw a bull terrier he would call it a Curtis. (King likes to give human names to animals.) Bull Terriers are known as the clownish dogs of the canine species. They have a personality like no other dog, which is defintly an experience.
Here is Pearl. Her name stems from the fact that she is white. (duh) She is the first bully that I adopted almost three years ago. Pearl is a rescue dog that I adopted from the Texas Gulf Coast Bull Terrier Club She has been the best dog ever. I was glad to adopt her as an adult dog. I know that lots of people want a puppy cause they are cute and snuggly. I admit it, I love puppies too!! But the biggest downside is having to pottytrain a puppy, which I have no patience for. Which is why it was a great decision for me to get Pearl as an adult. I didn't feel like I had to do a lot of training with her, Pearl seemed to pick up on things more quicly. She seems to be very greatful to have a home where someone loves her. Pearl is a dog that is very "go with the flow" She isn't needy and doesn't really bark much, nor does she tear many things up. She's just content being a dirty dog, I can't keep her clean. Secretly, she loves Curtis, but I don't think she will ever admit to it.
I haven't been able to craft much this week, past the baby bibs that I posted. However, a coworker saw the pink and brown bibs and rags, and ordered a set of each, one for a girl and one for a boy. Yay for me because now I get to make some extra cash to support this crazy craft addition that I have. I have recently become a Craigslist junkie!! I will explain tomorrow.

Two Seasons: Winter and Summer
Wow, you just have to love the Texas weather! We only have two seasons: winter and summer. There is no such a thing as a spring or fall season. . . . and if you live in Texas, you know exactly what I mean. Now that summer is approaching oh so fast, I am scrambling to get all of my inside projects finished so I can start on outside projects. And yes, outside projects do include mowing the lawn on a weekly basis because it takes me a little longer than King. Most of the time he is out of town, so then it becomes my job. Why not hire a yard man? Cause I would rather use that "extra" money to get my hair did! LOL Although, in some weird way, I think I like to mow the lawn. . . . . I guess it makes me feel good about myself and our little house.
Needless to say my "crafting to do list" is super long this for this weekend!! However, I did finally finish that 4th of July scrapbooking page that I was having a "creative block" on. It's not the greatest, but it will do. Every time I scrap a 4th of July page it sucks and I don't know why. I think it's because most 4th of July paper kinda stinks, cause my pics are usually good (or so I think so!) While doing that page, I became fustrated, and started finishing up the laundry. I was putting my clothes away and realized my closet looked like it threw up on its self! Everything was all mixed up and I felt the stress coming on! Yes, having an unorganized closet stresses me out. All of the winter clothes where put back in their bins under the bed. Ahhhh how clean it looked afterwards. I would like to put in an order for the closet on the Sex In The City movie.
Here's the to do list for the weekend:
1) Add decorative trim to bath towels
2) Cover the bench for back patio & purchase two new chairs and table.
3) Make cushion for rocking chair on front porch
4) Make flower pot arrangement for front porch
5) Power wash concrete on back patio and hang lights
6) Hem two pairs of jeans & sew button on shorts for King
7) Alter a dress
8) Cut out dress for soon to be Mrs. D
9) Fertilize yard, if King hasn't already
10) Try to oil kitchen cabinents . . . if there is time.
11) Oh yeah, King and I have a work related banquet to attend tonight.
Oh how I will be crazy busy!! But I like it that way. Will have pictures for Monday. Have a good weekend! I leave you with a picture of Curtis and I. He makes me happy!!

Almost Mrs. Dreibelbis
OMG! Imagine the last name "DREIBELBIS" . . . . no offense "soon to be Mrs. D". Thank goodness Almost Mrs. D isn't a school teacher cause the name goes against the "I before E, except after C" rule. And I don't think the kids would be able to spell it. Well we are about thirty days out from her wedding and sh*t is starting to hit the fan!! Decisions need to be and they need to be now! So of course, Mrs. D is totally freaking out, which is typical of all brides. However, out of all the weddings I've been in, I think Mrs. D will be able to handle everything well. My five closests girlfriends have gotten married over the past three years, and have been MOH in all of them. I truly feel honored and I am so lucky to be chosen MOH that many times (and I've been MOH other weddings too just not my closests friends). However, this kinda sucks for me, who am I supposed to pick?! I think I am going to have to have King draw straws on this one. They are all my favorite friends and each one of them has their special qualities. Guess I need to get engaged before I start thinking about choosing a MOH, at least King has a default, he has a brother that he can choose for his BM.
Also, the last week when I whipped up these invitations, a co-worker asked me to make baby shower invitations for her daughter. So not only did I just make 20 bachelorette party invites, I ended up making SIXTY baby shower invites! Although, since King went back to El Paso to work, I was able to get this done. I love the baby stuff!! Almost makes me want to have one. Yeah right! I like the "idea" of babies. LOL I am totally jazzed that the first of my five closests girlfriends is PREGO! Mrs. Pustjovsky (that is almost as bad as Dreibelbis! and there is a Mrs. Pfiester and Mrs. Schmitt!! I feel sorry for thier kids! Imagine spelling those names in cursive when you're about eight!
I leave you with pictures of the snow!! Oh how I was excited to have snow in Texas!
