I have recently become obsessed with Instagram!  What about you?! I usually end up posting some of my smaller projects on Instagram.  Most of the time, it is projects that are usually spur of the moment or things that I don't typically feel like blogging about.

Easy 100% cotton skirts that I whipped up for summertime!

Freezer paper stencils! I used my Silloutte to cut out the images for the freeer paper stencil.  How about the burlap?! Ack! I love it!! I made the burlap pillow for my Mom, she recently started raising honey bees.

Ties for the nerdy boyfriend! Aren't they fabulous! He does like them; however, he really wants a few bow ties ... The kind that actually tie.  Have you ever tried to make a bow tie?!  They are really a pain in the butt; so tedious and time consuming for such a small accessories. 

Ruffled rubber gloves for the boyfriend's sister! A cute and fun item to make!

Whipped up this decorative dish towel for the boyfriend's house.  Apparently I was using the "decorative" to dry my hands; however, the decorative dish towel was not decorative.  Problem solved. 

Instagram has become my new favorite place to search for ideas and inspiration.  Hope you can find some from me! Feel free to steal and idea or two and create it into your own.

Wire Screen Roses

My Mom is so creative when it comes to making junk into something fabulous.  Thank goodness because my Dad is one of those that doesn't throw much away; she likes to rummage through his things for DIY projects and up cycling.  She found some old screen, twisted it up and made these roses.  The finished rose was about two inches in diameter, or maybe even a little bigger.  You can paint any color.  Super fabulous, right?!  They looks great on flower pots.

Father's Day Sign

I made this last year for Father's Day and once again, I totally forgot to post it right before the holiday.  Oh well!  I'm going to go ahead and post it now.  This is such a cute and sweet saying.  I purchased a simple piece of wood from Hobby Lobby, stained it and added the vinyl.  Quick and easy! 

Jalepeno Jelly

Can you believe that it is almost Christmas?!  Yep, we are half way through the year.  I am already getting geared up!  Last year, I was on a jalepeno jelly making spree and I was able to master the consistency of jelly.  (Jelly can get "soupy" and you have to be sure to follow the directions EXACTLY!)  I gave out these tiny jars of jalepeno jelly to friends and coworkers.  I felt like it was a nice gift for the people who are close to you but you don't want to spend a lot of money.

 

Texas A&M :: Baby Bedding & Subway Art

I really enjoy making baby bedding, especially when I get use Fightin' Texas Aggie fabric.  I only made a blanket and a few sheets with these fabrics.  I was surprised by how well this light pink and gray went with Aggie maroon.  

My fellow Aggies just can't get enough of these subway art signs.  I'm pretty sure that I've made about 20 of them.  So fun and unique.

Felt Lettered Christmas Pillows

I get so excited about the Christmas season that I can barely contain myself.  Last fall, while watching Aggie football I would cut out felt letters for this project; I love to watch football but I like to be multi tasking when watching any kind of TV.

I simply printed out letters onto paper to create a pattern for the letters.  I cut out the paper letters, then traced the letters onto the felt and cut out the felt.  Once I had all of my letters cut out, sewed them onto the burlap/fabric.  Trick: I hot glued the letters onto the burlap/fabric before sewing. The hot gluehelped to keep all of the letters straight while sewing.  

Minnie Mouse Cupcakes

I'm sure you've seen these before .... Minnie Mouse Cupcakes! Aren't they just the cutest?! Whipped these up for a birthday party.

T-Shirt Quilt

I'm super excited how this turned out! My friend asked me to make this tshirt quilt for a graduation gift. We used all if his tshirts from high school to complete the quilt. We even found maroon minky dot cuddle fabric for the back and I think the chevron border adds a nice touch. Such a sweet gift to give and to receive. I can't wait to get started on mine from Texas A&M.

I cut each shirt in half and then ironed on interfacing to the back. Then I cut each shirt it with my rotary cutter. Sew it up and you are done!
