Sidewalk Chalk Birthday Invitation

I was super stoked when my friend asked me to help her with her daughter’s birthday invitation.  We decided on drawing a scene with chalk and then taking a picture with her daughter; I added words with Photoshop.  I wish the scene could have been better … But drawing isn’t my one of my strong abilities.  However, it turned out super stinkin’ cute.  We uploaded the picture to Walgreens and for only a few bucks- birthday invitations are done!  {What you don’t see in the picture … is my friend and I getting frustrated because Gabrielle was crying due to the sun being soooo BRIGHT! Oh the drama from a five year old!! LOL … thus the sunglasses.  However, it was pretty darn hot outside and she toughed it out like a champ.}

Did You Notice the Blog Redo?

In the middle of my 10 Days Of Scrapbooking, I decided to have Kim over at 733 Custom Blog Design do a blog design for me.  She is so AMAZING!  I told what I wanted and she totally made it happen.  At first I wanted a complete blog design makeover, but then we both realized that my header was good the way it was.  Kim was able to create everything else based off of my header and what I told her.  She is definitely a good listener and VERY fast!  Let's not forget that her prices are totally reasonable.   Be sure you check out her portfolio.  If you are even considering a blog design, you should consider 733 Custom Blog Design.  She has a pretty snazzy crafty blog too, check it out here.

Graduation Invite

Since I am known as the super creative person in our office, one of my co-workers wanted a super snazzy kindergarden graduation invitation for her daughter.  She was impressed with the birthday invite that I did and wanted something similar.  Sorry, I had the scratch out the information . . .

Where I Create

I decided to replace a few of the decorations in my craft room, NOT that it was bad.  Mainly what I wanted to was replace my ribbon holder and clear off my work surface.  My counter top/work surface is L shaped and sometimes I have two projects going on at once; I need as much "working" space as possible. Also, I can't stop buying ribbon!!!  You can never have enough.  Here it is.

Keeping your craft room clean and neat is essential.  At least, for me it is. For some reason my mind will not work if I am in a messy area.  I have found that if I keep things labeled with cute tags, it makes me want to keep my room neat and clean.  I know it doesn't look like I have a lot of supplies, but that is because I don't.  I clean out my craft closet, supply baskets and ect twice a year.  Come on- you know you're never going to use some of that cheesy stuff that was on clearance.  LOL  Also, I try real hard not to buy tools that I am not going to need.  Especially since I have the Cricut, it does so much!!

I am really greatful that I am able to have a whole room dedicated to my crazy craftyness.  I remember my Mom always laying out her fabric on the kitchen floor to cut out a pattern and sewing at the dining room table.  She never had her own space, however, you should see her room now!! She doesn't have any kids at home so her room is constantly having a project or two or more like FIVE. Going to paint the bed this weekend and do a little sewing.  I leave you with the two pictures of my bullies that are hanging in my craft room.  Yes, they are Photoshop'd.

Another Digital Photo: Thank You

One of my co workers asked me to create a thank you photo for her daughter who recently had a birthday.  Of course, I said yes!! Especially since I am practicing on my digital skills with Photoshop Elements! It turned out very well.  The best part is, I really didn't spend that much time on it and it still looks good!!

I probably won't post tomorrow cause my scrap room is getting a mini makeover and some re organization, so I will be up to my eyeballs in supplies.  I'll reveal one day this week! Stoked about the weekend- going to paint the bed frame!!

Digital Scrapbooking

I have finally mastered the art of digital scrapbooking and making things in Photoshop Elements.  Mastering how to use Photoshop for my blog and for other projects, has been a goal of mine for sometime now (I already know how to use for editing photos).  Not having internet at home to search for the digital embellishments has held me back.  I am a MASTER now!! LOL  or at least trying to be a master.  Of course, I created the header.  Also, I became inspired by one of my BFFs engagement announcements.  She created her engagement announcement on a 4 x 6 picture that was jazzed up.  It was sooo fabulous and I have to admit that I was a tiny bit jealous that I did not know how to do this.  So when one of my co workers asked me to make some invitations for a one year old birthday party, I knew exactly what I was going to do.  Especially since she mentioned having the girls picture on the invite.  Here it is!!  

 I don't want to start digital scrapbooking my photos because I love scraping with paper.  The digital scraping gives me a different outlet for sharing my creativity without always doing to same thing.  I am trying to practice on my digital skills for when King pops the question- which as most of you know, will still be a long time. LOL  Thank goodness tomrorrow is hump day!! I need this week to be over!
