Gingerbread Houses

Christmas Day is almost here and I haven't even made a dent in my "To Make" list for Christmas.  Ack! I totally need to get on the ball for next year!!   Before I know it, Valentines Day will be here.  My ideas are already brewing . . .

I love making gingerbread houses!  We are about to get our icing on!  Here are a few we’ve made in the past.

Burlap Wine Bags

I handed out about a dozen bottles of wine to coworkers and work associates.  I whipped up some burlap wine bags and added a snazzy stamped tag.  Another quick and easy project- my style!

Christmas Ornaments

Check out these super snazzy ornaments that I made!  The base of the ornament is a cardboard coaster! Can you believe that?!  (Found at Michael's in the dollar bins.) I then layered it up with a snowflake ornament and some paper.  Super easy and simple! I gave these four to some friends but I am going to make a few similar to these for my tree next year.  Thanks to my good friend who gave me the idea for these ornaments.

Pretty Packages!

I would love to show you what is inside these pretty packages!! However, the recipients have not received them yet.  I like it when the wrapping looks as fabulous as the gift.  I sewed up these skinny bags specifically for the item inside.  Found those tags at Hobby Lobby.

Christmas Deer Head Tags

Last year I purchased about 7 pairs of Crocs for all of the guys in our family (Black Friday: buy one get one free! Score!)  I wanted to make a tag specifically for the guys.   When I saw {THIS} image over at Graphics Fairy, I knew it would be perfect.

I edited the image in Microsoft Word and then printed on white cardstock.. Each deer head was cut out and mounted onto colored cardstock.

Christmas Trees & Decor

I did not put a Christmas tree this year.  Crazy, right?!  I did not put up a tree because I want to redo my Christmas tree decorations.  My current decorations are red and gold; which I really love, but I am tired of them.  All season long, I have been thinking about making new decorations for next year.   And lets not forget about hitting up the after Christmas sale at Hobby Lobby.

Even though I didn’t use my Christmas tree decorations at my house, I was able to take them to my church for the 12 foot tree and another small tree in the foyer.  Decorating at the church was a ton of fun! (I made a big bow for the tree topper, but I took the picture before it was put up.  Also, the tree looks WAY better in person.)

Check out those big berries! I found those at Hobby Lobby last year.
I am in love with them!! Hoping I can find something like these in brown or
bronze for next years Christmas Tree.   They came on a big vine and I cut them apart.

Christmas Banner

Check out the Christmas banner that my Mom made for my aunt.  I was kinda bummed that she didn’t keep it for herself; however, I know it will look fabulous in my aunt’s home.   I wish the lighting in the pictures was a little better.

Be sure to check out the linky party that is happening {HERE}

Bucee’s and Carmel Popcorn

Have you ever been to Bucee’s?!  It is the most AMAZING gas station ever!! (These stores are generally located in the Southeastern part of Texas.)  Actually, this store is more than just a gas station.  I am pretty sure that I could do ALL of my Christmas shopping in this place.

Also, their bathrooms are more than fabulous! Over the Thanksgiving holiday I stopped at the one in Madisonville on I45, and there was a tenant in the bathroom directing people! Seriously!? A tenant in the bathroom!!

Buccee’s also has caramel CAMO popcorn! Who comes up with that?! Bucee’s does!! I decided to go ahead and buy a bag of the caramel camo popcorn because my Mom and I wanted to try our hand at making some caramel popcorn.  Of course, we decided to die ours red and green!! {HERE} is the recipe we used.  This stuff is super easy to make!  Pretty delicious too! Go ahead and plan to make twice as much as you think you will need.  Mom and I made a double batch and then we had to make another double batch because we at so much!
