My Ribbon Has Thrown Up!

I was so proud of myself when I made {THIS} ribbon rack.  I thought it was going to solve all of my ribbon needs.  Apparently, I have a ribbon problem.   Hmm who knew?!

RIBBON THROW UP 1

All is good until that MIDDLE spool runs out …

RIBBON THROW UP

I decided a few baskets would help with the overflow … now they are overflowing.

RIBBON THROW UP 2

This whole space just isn’t happening for me.  The boxes work well but I think I could have a more fashionable  & convenient storage area.  On a mission to do a redo on this area in my craft room …. stay tuned.

Haylet, I seen something that may be helpful to you.....I can't remeber what blog I saw this on.....this lady had tons of ribbon, she took it all and wrapped it around clothes pins...the type without the clip or spring, they just slide on the line??? Wrapped all of her ribbon like that and placed it in really pretty glass jars she placed on shelves. I will see if I can find the link to shazre with you!!!

I have the same problem! My ribbon is EVERYWHERE. I have them on a rack like yours and they just fall all over the place. I saw some ribbon boxes at Hobby Lobby that I want to get that keep only a little bit of the ribbon from coming out at once!

Please share if you find a system that really works with your ribbons and trims. I currently have mine in a rubbermaid bin...a really big one. I too have an obsession for ribbons apparently. I get so tired of having to roll it all up when I look for one...always on the bottom of the bin. I have tried the way you have it as well as in smaller containers and have not been happy with any of them. If I find the solution, I will be happy to share as well.

I have a serious ribbon problem too. The biggest problem is that I pick up adorable ribbons all the time even though I hardly ever craft with ribbon!

I love your rack and have been looking for one like it. I think all you need to make it work is a little tension on the spools. Just something resting lightly on them much like what some paper towel holders and toilet paper holders have. One of my favorite solutions so far is the design with dowels fastened between two chains. The spools rest against the wall or board the chains are fastened on which gives them the tension they need to keep from rolling. This also means it only works if the spools are all the same size. lol
