My Own Sock Monkey

As you all might know I love the sock monkey.  Not sure what it is about it, but I love it!!  I am so very EXCITED because my super fabulous mom made me my very own sock monkey!! Doesn't it look fabulous!! I am excited to have him sit on my craft room and watch me craft!  Keeps me company when King is out of town!  LOL  My mom said it took her over an HOUR! to put one of these together and she is a very avid and almost professional sewer, been sewing since she was wee tiny.  Therefore, if you want to make one, you might want to have a little time.  Just thought I would let you all know.  Sorry, I am not even sure if she used a pattern or not . . . but here is a site that has a pattern.  I found the actually sock monkey "socks" at WalMart, only saw them like once, not sure why they had them but I bought a few pair!

Cake Stands

This is one of my all time favorite repurposing ideas.  I've have had the supplies for quite some time but haven't taken the time to actually put everything together but since Mrs. Rooster and I are hosting a baby shower, I figured I should go ahead and get this project out of the way! I am super excited about her and I getting together this weekend to make some things for the shower.   It's going to be an explosion of pink paper!!  I know some of you have probably seen this idea before but I wanted to share mine. 

Fabulous Lables!

If you have been reading my blog for awhile now, you know that I am very OCD. So it shouldn't come as a surprise to know that I love making lables for all of my containers and baskets that hold my supplies.  Since my shelf fell down, I felt it was time to reorganize some things and make new lables.   Having lables really helps me to not overbuy or purchase doubles  If the container isn't labeled, I will eventually forget what is in it.  Having  everything labeled seems to make the craft room look more cohesive and put together, or so I think so.  Here are a few pics of what I did.  Super easy! (come on, label you stuff! you have time! LOL)  Here are some pics of some of my stuff that is labels.  I used to the Cricut for the tags on the pink containers and used doubled sided tape so I can easily remove them if I needed.  Easy tip: Use those address labels that you can print on to help you organize your stuff!  You can print 30 at once!

I redid this can to hold my vinyl.  Ahhh! I am soooo bummed that I haven't even had a chance to use my vinyl! Can you believe that!!  Hence, why I said that I was going to put away the sewing machine for awhile.

Yes, I even have my paper labeled.  I buy too much of that stuff to not have it labeled!! LOL

Guest Bedroom

I am finally partyly finished with the guest bedroom.  Why did it take me so long?! I couldn't decide on a bedding set.  After going to almost every single store in my area, I decided to move the one from the master bedroom into the guest bedroom.  I really like this bedding and there ins't really anything wrong with it and besides, if I am going to buy something new- I want it to for the master! LOL  I have ordered a bedding set from Bed Bath & Beyond for the master and I can't wait for it to get here!!  Nothing is else is really done to the guest bedroom because I am going to do a switch on some of the furniture and buy some more.  And I hate to say this, but remember that airmore that I purchased on Craigslist, well I am going to have to sell it back to someone on CL.  It is almost a little to big for the room and I really do not like how it isn't very tall.  Also, remember the before picture of this room, from when the roomie lived with us . . . . . well here it is now!

Here is the fan! This thing ROCKS! I was stoked that I was able to get a brushed bronze fan for under $60 at the HD (It also came with three super snazzy energy efficient bulbs, that is worth $8!).  I was even thinking about painting the existing one in our master bedroom, but not after installing this one. This time, I am going to actually buy a new one instead of doing a redo on it!

Personalized Tote Bag Part 2

I am so glad that I was able to finish the personalized tote bags over the weekend!  I had to make nine of them! Whew, that was just enough!  Remember the "Easy Flower" post that I showed everyone, well I was able to use all those red flowers on the tote bags with a big jewel for the center.  I was able to monogram my bags, but if you do not have a monogramming machine you could always paint on a name.

 I am putting away my sewing machine and embroidery machine for awhile. I am really craving to get started on some paper crafting.

Personalized Tote Bag Part 1

As I mentioned before, I have been asked to make some tote bags for 9 bridesmaids (the same wedding that I made the necklaces for).  Of course, I am trying to make something that is super fabulous and doesn't cost very much!  I think I have succeded.  The tote bags aren't 100% finished yet, but I wanted to share anyway.  This idea could always be used for a birthday gift, summertime gift, teacher appreciation gift, or just a bag for your daughter.  You can jazz them up as litte or as much as you want to.

Hopefully, I can get these finished at 100% this weekend.  But my two BFF's from college are coming into town so I don't think I will be getting much crafting done.

Easy Flower

I was able to get a lot of things finished since I was off all day yesterday! Whew! Now I only have one project in the making and everything else is done!!  I am stoked.  I will share those with you this week.  But I have been wanting to show everyone how to get a lot of flowers for a few pennies.  Since I am usually making things in bulk for other people I am always trying come up with ways to make things look very cute for very little.  Remember the handbag that I jazzed up with that BIG pink flower, here is how you can get your own BIG flower.

I will be adding the red flowers to some tote bags that I am doing for a wedding party.  You can also pull off the petals of a hydrangea to get smaller flowers.   Hope this gives you some inspiration to look a things in a new light. :)
