Birthday Party Banners & Cupcake Toppers

I love making banners! A customer ordered birthday banners & cupcake toppers for her son and niece who are having a joint birthday party.  She sent me invitations for each child and asked me to mix the boy and girl colors with out it looking too girly for the boy but yet, still girly enough for the girl.  I decided to go with the orange as the “common” color to tie it all together.

Did you know you can run crepe paper through your ruffler foot on your sewing machine! Yep! That is what I did.  Once the crepe paper was ruffled, I then glued it to the back of the circles.

I used my Cricut to make the cupcake toppers and then used my circle punch to cut out the words that I printed from my computer.

Grafix Custom Signs:Queen Bee and Rhinestones

I was on FB and my BFF commented on another friends status, she  said “When In Doubt Add Another Rhinestone. –Dolly Parton” This couldn’t be more fitting for a girl who lives in Texas and crafts.  Rhinestones make EVERYTHING better!

A little scrapbooking paper, a round piece of wood, {GRAFIX} blank transparencies, and rhinestones … make a super cute little sign for anyone who likes a little bling.  The best part of this project … I didn’t have to buy anything! I already had all of these supplies.

I am on a sign making spree and in a super girly mood!  Who doesn’t like to be called “Queen Bee” Once again, I used the {GRAFIX} blank transparencies for the wording- seriously, you need to go get some of this stuff.  I used {GRAFIX} vellum layered with solid cardstock to create the flowers.  I was able to cut out the flowers with my Cricut.

Grafix Custom Signs: Halloween and Name

I was given the opportunity to use {GRAFIX} products and OMG! This stuff rocks!! I am in love with the {COMPUTER GRAFIX}.  Computer Grafix blank transparencies can be ran through laser or ink jet printers to print your own custom designs.  (So happy they can be ran through laser printers, because I do not have an ink jet printer.) Also, this product comes with and adhesive backing, which was the perfect product to create a few decorative signs that I have been on my crafting to-do list.

I purchased some pieces of wood at HL, painted them up, drilled a few holes for a wire hanger, then created my design and printed it! BAM! I was done! I am super excited with my results and I am definitely going to whip up a few more signs.

Brown & Blue Cupcakes

Yes, I am still on a cupcake making spree!!  I can’t help myself!!  I am getting better and better at making the icing “perfect” on top of the cake; as well as, not overfilling the cupcake pan.  These cupcakes are the best ones that I’ve made.  They are all consistent with each other.

Baby Headband Flowers

I am super stoked about my cousin having a baby girl!  I made the little princess a few flowers for some headbands using my “easy flower technique” {HERE}.  Basically, you take apart a fake flower, add a rhinestone in the center and add a clip to it so it can be clipped onto the headband.

Damask Tote Bag

One of my friends wanted a really big ‘ol tote bag.  She ordered and I delivered … A huge black and white damask tote bag with a monogrammed “K”.  This is by far, the largest tote bag that I have ever made. I have to admit, it was little challenging due to the size.  I didn’t use a pattern and we all know that I stink at tutorials.

Paisley and Zebra Bedding

I am so proud of this bedding order that I completed and it was so much fun to sew up.  Oh how I can’t wait to have kids one day.  They will have the most rockin’ bedrooms ever.

These pictures are taken in my guest room and I am hoping that I can get some pictures of this bedding in the little girls room.   Not to brag on myself, but these pictures do not even give this bedding set any justice.  It looks way nicer in person.

I sewed up a duvet cover, (2) euro shams, (2) regular pillow shams, (2) throw pillow covers, and a dust ruffle.

Cleaning Cupcake Pans

My cupcake pans have taken a beating over the past few weeks … they were getting pretty nappy.  {Under the Table and Dreaming} showcased {THIS} dryer sheet idea on her Facebook page.  You read that right! DRYER SHEETS!  I cleaned my cupcakes pans with dryer sheets and they look a million times better.  I didn’t even have to scrub very hard and it was very quick.

Aprons!

Oh how I love making aprons!  I think they make a great gift for all types of occasions.  Two years ago I made about 18 of them for Christmas gifts.  Easy to personalize with fun fabrics and not very costly.  Recently, I made four of them for a customer who was giving them away as hostess gifts.  Aprons are a great beginner sewing project for anyone who is feeling apprehensive about sewing.
