Bring on 2011!

I know I have been out of pocket for the past few days; King and I have driven all over the state of Texas to see all of our wonderful family and friends.  Now that I have been back home, I have been getting some things DONE!- not bloggy related.  I have been feeling very productive!  Organized the attic and put away Christmas décor, cleaned out kitchen cabinets, hall closet cleaned out, organized garage, ALL laundry is caught up and a mini make over on the living room with all the Hobby Lobby gift cards I received …  I am ready for a clean and organized 2011!

Here is a banner that my BFF, Mrs. S, made for her New Years party.  She used cup cake foil liners for some shimmer and sparkle- DUH! Why didn’t I think of that!  I am totally diggin’ on the mis matched fonts.  I think it looks totally fabulous! Wish she lived closed so I could craft with her more.

NEW YEARS BANNER audrey

Mrs. Rooster and I are NOT on top of our “A” game- no New Years décor. :(  With Christmas, getting geared up for both of her daughters birthdays AND Valentine’s Day . . . it’s just not happening this year.  Hope everyone has a safe New Year! Designate a driver!

Top 10 2010

Here are my Top 10 for 2010 ... So hard to choose!!  Here is Blogger Top 5 and My Favorite Top 5.

{According to Blogger Stats}

I felt accomplished about Mom and I actually making these pumpkin topiaries.
We had been talking about it for years.  I am still in love with it.

Never thought Mrs. Rooster and I would have been able to pull off such
an amazing shower; but we did.  The zebra fondant cake was our masterpiece.
Can't wait to scrap the cake pictures.

Oh how I love Shanty2Chic and their great ideas.
These jars are so versatile, cheap and easy to make!

I am amazed that this little paper bouquet had so many hits.
I actually kinda thought it was kinda cheesy .  . . apparently it's fabulous!

These pumpkins are so my kind of project . . .  Super fast to make
and very easy with only a few supplies; instant results!

{My Favorite}

Once I started blogging, I fell in love with all the banners.
This one makes me smile every time I walk in to my craft room.

The Pink and Zebra Shower was a total success but so was
the Pink & Brown Shower.  So glad that all of my friends are starting
to get prego.  I am pretty sure that I will be hosting more! :)

I am still in love with this front door decoration even though it hasn't
been on the front door in months.  The sad this is, I don't think I will be
hanging it there any more . . . King is a big guy and kept bumping into it
every time he opened the door.  Maybe it will find a new home
on the back porch in the spring.

Oh how I can't wait to make some more of these! I am so proud of this outfit.

I don't know what it is about these things, but I can't get over how
weird and festive they look.  I wish I would have made more of them.  Maybe in 2011.

Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone is enjoying some much needed time off with thier friends and family!  I know I sure am!  I will not be posting until after the New Year  . .  . although I really want to squeeze in some projects, but I think King and I will be way to busy.   Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of my bloggy friends!

I am still adding Christmas projects to my to do list for next year!! Here are all of my Christmas links from this year, maybe I can offer you a little inspiration for next year too.

Christmas Cards!

I wish I could have posted these a lot earlier but I didn't want to spoil the card for any of those recipients who read my blog.  I actually made two sets of Christmas cards last year and didn't have to make any this year.  I am so glad that I had those on hand because I am feeling totally behind with only a few days before Christmas.  Hope you are ready!!

I mass produce the same design of one card; I make probably about 50 or so . . .they might differ a little depending on the paper selection that I have on hand and this is the time when I usually use stamps.

My uncle and his wife are all about coffee and Starbucks!
Of course, I had to jazz it up a little.

Christmas Topiary

I really wanted to make something using Christmas ornaments.  Originally, I wanted to make an ornament wreath but I just couldn't decide on the colors or where to hang it . . .  so instead, I decided to hot glue some ornaments on a styrofoam ball for a topiary.  I purchased the ornaments at Dollar Tree and already had the 4" styrofoam ball.  In between the ornaments I used the end of my scissors to poke in that cheesy garland that also comes from Dollar Tree.  For about $6, I am totally satisfied with how it turned out.

Things You Should Know if We're Gonna Be BFF's

Little Miss Momma totally threw herself out there!  It is comforting to know that there are "normal" people out there and even though I don't always agree with someone else or have their opinions, I can respect that they are real people.  She is hosting a Things You Should Know Link Party. . . . go link up and read a few others.  There are some seriously funny ladies out there!

So here it goes . .  . . don't judge me!

I have NEVER played any kind of sports- EVER!

Clutter = ANXIETY I am super OCD.

I pass GAS in front of King, LOUD ones too! . . . he passes his, why can’t I?!

Wal-Mart’s PRICES can’t be BEAT, and you can NOT convince me otherwise.

I love to VACUUM and IRON.

When King is out of town, I shift out of high gear, get LAZY and the house is MESSY.

I have to look at my TO DO LIST notebook every night or I can’t sleep.

FB is NOT an open diary!

I am so CHEAP that I will be SWEATING inside my house in the summer time when it is 100 degrees or more outside.

I am kinda TRASHY . . . I SMOKE and have four TATTOOS.

I have a blog post LIST.

I like to BITCH and complain . . . more than others.

I could NEVER date a shrimpy guy. King isn’t SHRIMPY.

TEXAS will always be HOME.

I only want ONE daughter, so I don’t have to SPLIT the mother-daughter relationship between two.

There is SOAP SCUM in my master bathroom.

FULL BUTT cotton underwear are the best to sleep in.

I forgive MARTHA; she’s still my idol.

LEATHER is my favorite smell.

I have to WASH and BLOW DRY my hair every single day.

I talk to my Mom for EVERY single day.

I am addicted to DIET COKE and STARBUCKS.

My OPINIONS are usually the RIGHT ones.

I really don’t like to COOK but I am too CHEAP to buy readymade meals or pastries, so I plunge through it every night.

You never cook a STEAK well done! You might as well eat a HAMBURGER!

FAKE NAILS are a waste of money.

I will NOT go to work without HAIR and MAKEUP being done . . . I would rather take the late punishment.

I own FABULOUS.

A HUGE wedding critic.

{stockings} filler up!

I can't believe I keep seeing empty stockings. . . .  I don't have a mantle but there are still hanging stockings on the wall were wall art usually hangs.  I always have fake foliage in my stockings for that added decorated touch . . .  I think they look frumpy empty.

Here's my tree.  I know, it looks like a ton of
ornaments threw up on it.  But I like it that way! LOL
King is a little indifferent about it. We have presents now  . . .
I took this pic a few weeks ago.

I never leave out the guest bathroom when it comes
to holiday decorating.  I am not sure if it is "appropriate"
to have a stocking in the bathroom,
but I like that way it looks,  kinda unexpected.

Apothecary Jars: JOY

I am still so thrilled that I made these apothecary jars.  They have come in so handy for Halloween, fall, and now I have them filled with JOY.  I used my Cricut to cut out the letters and then added in fake snow.

Ahhh! I still have atleast two more gifts to make . .  .

Christmas Table Decoration {Glitter}

I am 98% done with getting all my Christmas stuff together. I have been sewing my fingers off making gifts. (Can't show them just yet because those peeps read my blog.) I need to drop the cards and packages in the mail; as well as, finish wrapping . . . then I am finished.  I will be able kick back with the family to enjoy the rest of the season. Although, my throat is starting to hurt. :( Ugghh! I hope I am not getting sick.

I almost forgot to post about these two fabulous arrangements that I made for my table, not sure if I place them there next year.  Looking for something a little more different for my table . . .  I've seen some good ideas this year, so maybe next I will come up with something different. Last year I got the vases on sale for like $4 each at HL. {Original price $24.99!! I stole them!} These are so glittery and shiny. Love it! Of course, there are pieces of glitter everywhere! Even on my tiny dog!

Christmas Banners

I am getting super excited about Christmas almost being here!!  Although, I am bummed because I really wanted to make MORE decorations and stuff, but time is running out for all the projects.  At least I have all my shopping done!

Here are two banners that I made several years ago, one for the house and the other for my office.  Once again, I feel like these are pretty simple and plain like my Halloween banner that I also made several years back.  New banners are on my to do list for next year.  I am hoping that I can squeeze in a mini Noel banner.

Apothecary Jar : Filled with Mints!

I can't get over how creative my Mom is .  . .  check out her apothecary jar!! It is filled with a ton of mints and with a door knob decoration as a giant tag.  Of course, she made the tag too.  Oh how I love the way this looks!

Pottery Barn Inspired Banner

If Pottery Barn made banners . . . .  I think they would be selling this one that I made.  Ahh!! I am in love with this banner!! Paper with inked up burlap and stenciled on letters gives this banner a feeling of classic and festive.  I was so glad that I was able to make this for an old friend; I really hope she enjoys it in her home.

Topairy Thing-A-Ma-Jigs and Mom's Table

While I was home over Thanksgiving, my Mom and I really wanted to craft something but we didn't "plan" on craftin' so we didn't stock up on any supplies . . . . . but with a trip to HL we came up with something that turned out pretty fabulous.  This isn't quite my style nor my Mom's but it works.

We hot glued the itsy-bitsie-beads onto old Christmas ornaments and hot glued dowel rods into the holes on the ornaments.  There is green floral foam under the fake snow.  It's kinda contemporary for me but it looks pretty festive for only a few bucks.

My Mom is so creative when it comes to decorating her table; it is different every year.

I wish my table was big enough to handle an arrangement of that size.

A tree on a cake plate?! But it looks good! I love it!

Goody goody gum drops!! Ahhh!! I {heart} the way the
gum drops are spilling out over onto the platter.
