Organizing Ribbon

Remember this?
RIBBON THROW UP 1

I was very impressed with myself when I made the shelf above.  However, it totally sucked when that middle spool ran out.  Of course, that was the only one that EVER ran out.   This piece wasn’t really working due to it’s lack of convenience and it was not holding all of my ribbon.  I needed another solution and here is what I came up with.

CRAFT ROOM 6

I purchased the cheap shelf at WalMart.  I went with cheap because I will probably not use this piece forever.  And I knew I wouldn’t be placing anything heaving on the shelves.  The jars hold smaller scrap pieces of ribbon; as well as, those ribbons I use most often.  The two black bins are for the rest of the ribbon.  I decluttered the closet a bit and moved the photo boxes from the closet.  These are the boxes that I use most often.  I have been using the ribbon jars for a little over a week now; I am really liking them.

I originally had {THIS} ceiling tile bulletin board on the wall (I have a tutorial on how to make a ceiling tile bulletin board over at that link).  However, I really didn’t like how the black and white feathers looked, nor was it big enough.  This is more fitting for my style.

Cupcake Card

Check out this cupcake card that my Mom made me for my birthday. I am totally lovin’ the idea of using the chandelier stamp as a cupcake stand.  She’s so creative!

Everyday Wreath- Hello Southern Living!

I finally had a chance to make an everyday wreath for my front door.  I know most people probably think of this as a “fall” wreath but King and I like dark traditional colors when it comes to decorating our house.   I am not sure if I want to make a wreath for every single season- I don’t think I have that much space to store a million wreaths.  The pheasant feathers really fit our personality; I think of them as fun and funky, and King probably thinks of hunting them.  This is one of the best wreaths that I have ever done.  I am pretty sure that Southern Living would want to come to my house and photograph it .  . . just saying.   Or Sonya over at Beyond the Screen Door would want to come take it off my door.

This half moon window really bothers me.
I need some vinyl on my door too! I am eventually
going to order some from Shannon over

one order for me- Oh how I can’t wait to show it off!

Scrapping 2010 #6

Still working on the 2010 scrapbook . .  . Oh is it ever going to be done?!   I really enjoy scrappin’ but there are so many other things that I want to make and I feel behind on this book.  A few more pages and then I have to get some more pictures developed; therefore, I will have a good reason to take a break and get some other things completed.  I have quite a few Easter ideas running through my head and I’ve been working on some stuff for my Etsy shop!  I am taking the plunge with Etsy! It should be up and running by Monday!

King and I.  I totally wish that beer bottle wasn’t in the picture.
Makes us look like a bunch of boozers. LOL

This is King’s brother.  I caught this picture of him when he wasn’t looking.
He must have been trying to impress some girl- Trying to look “cool”.

King and his friend at their other friend’s wedding.  Oh I love how the red looks
with the black especially on the cowboy hats.  The couple was married at
Christmas time.  Everything was so festive.

I Am A Redneck : Using Vinyl

While I was scrapping, I had the Cricut out and I decided to get out some vinyl to whip up a quick project that has been on my to do list for while now.  I am a crazy dog lady;  have two silly English Bull Terriers and one tiny Chi-Wow-Wow.  All three of them have a kennel and since their Mom is a crazy “crafty” dog lady, they must have jazzy dog name plates for their kennels.  I used paper and vinyl on pieces of wood that I purchased at HL, and zip tied them to the kennel . . . Kinda redneck, but keep scrolling down . . .

I can’t believe I actually did this.  I had new pack of lighters laying on my craft table and was getting ideas on vinyl. {Yes, I am a smoker… don’t judge! LOL}  Put the two together and you get super snazzy lighters! I even added some rhinestones!  I know, I am wack otherwise known as, super redneck!   The last one is an English Bull Terrier!

Scrapping 2010 #5

Still scrappin’ on … Actually I am sewing this weekend with Mrs. D. But here are a few layouts that I completed for 2010.  I am determined to get year 2010 over with.  I hate feeling behind.

This was my first layout ever using the “round” paper.
It was challenging but fun.
The two people in the picture are my Mom and Dad.
I {heart} these two people.  They are amazing.

My dog, Ginger.  I hardly ever get a good picture of her because usually
she ends up with red eye.  I was stoked when I captured this picture outdoors.
She really is tiny, only weighing about 3 lbs.  I am totally lovin’ my
Sure Cuts A Lot program- that is how I cut out the paw prints.

Scrapping 2010 #4

Oh how I love to scrap holidays.  Halloween was especially fun this year.  Thank goodness Mrs. Rooster has two kids because she always lets me participate.  I did here oldest daughter’s hair and make up for his vampire costume.  Not to brag, but she was the best dresses vampire in the neighborhood.

Pin Cushion Frames

Mrs. D, her Mom and I are getting together for a sewing marathon weekend!  Yay!  I am super excited.  This was the perfect opportunity to make a few {THESE}!!  Nichelle at {Vintage Wanna Bee} was sure thinking outside of the box when she came up with this pin cushion.  I made three of them for us girls.  Mine is going to look fabulous on that new shelf that I am putting in the craft room.

Scrapping 2010 #3

I knew this picture was going to be a scrapper.  King and Slayden sitting around the campfire in Montana.  They looked so stinkin’ cute in their Carhart jackets.  Slayden thinks King (aka Lunchbox) is the shizznit.  Slayden is a smart kid, I kinda think King is the shizznit too!
