Super Fab Tassels: Texas Sized

My Aunt K & Aunt G came from Ohio to visit a few weeks ago.  Mom was telling me about these tassels they made and honestly, I was like yeah … yeah … yeah … I knew they would be awesome but I wasn’t expecting what she brought me.  Whoa! I was totally blown away!! These tassels are more than fabulous!!

They used the instructions from Hobby Lobby {HERE}; however, they wanted their tassels to be “Texas Sized” & decided to use a water bottle as the middle of the tassel.  Once all of the fabric strips/ribbon were adhered, they added all kinds of junk jewelry, rolled flowers, or just whatever.  I can’t wait to make my own but I am lucky because Mom gave me the blue one.  What a great way to use up fabric scraps and any kind of other junk.

Halloween Cards

Last weekend my Mom came up for a visit.  She is the best! Why?! Because she altered and hemmed, every single pair of slacks that I own .... I own about 25-30 pair.  I've lost a little weight & have dropped a pant size.  I cannot afford to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe for work.  Also, she is awesome because she is the one who actually purchased the {MINI CLOCHE} for me! She rocks!

We also whipped up our Halloween cards.  I am really proud of us; it seems like we get better every year.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this paper from Canvas Corp; I bought the big ‘ol pack from Hobby Lobby.  Doesn't the harlequin pattern and damask patter look amazing?! I inked up the edges with some Tim Holtz ink and used my Cricut to cut out the images; we also used some stamps.  The pictures really do not to the cards any justice … just sayin’.

Nursery Letters: Pink and Brown

I made the pink and brown {DIAPER BAG} for my cousin and I also made her some custom letters for the nursery.  I didn't want the traditional floating letters that are wooden ... I wanted something with a wee bit more pizzazz & something that made a statement.  I purchased some cheap pictures at Dollar Tree for a $1 each and covered them with patterned paper and then I added the letters.

Don’t you just love the way she hung the letters? They definitely have the “pizzazz” I was going for.  I am lovin’ the piece of metal art above the letters (I have it in my house too!).  AMAZING! Everything looks so stinkin' cute.

Spider Under Mini Cloche

Last weekend I went to a local shop called Serendipity.  Ack! This place has the most fabulous home décor items.  I wanted to purchase everything in this store or maybe even live there.  I will definitely be shopping there again.  I purchased this mini cloche with a stand; oh how I love mini things.  I placed an oversized fake spider under the cloche.  I love the way it looks for Halloween.

MINI CLOCHE

Check out the picture below; I need this print for my home!  Serendipity has it  and I would totally be purchasing it if I had a place for it.  My house has very traditional pieces mixed with typical western décor along with vintage western pieces and a few random western décor pieces.  This would totally fit in; wish I had more wall space!

Halloween Test Tubes

You might have missed me over at {Every Creative Endeavor} last week.  I shared some test tube Halloween treats.  Remember those test tube {Valentine favors} that I made last year?  They were such a big hit and I really wanted to make some for Halloween.  A few weeks ago I walked into my scrapbooking store and spotted test tubes like {THIS}. I snagged four of them for a $1 each.  Also, I have seen some test tubes made by Martha Stewart, you can find them at Joann's Fabrics.  This project is quick, easy and barely uses any supplies.  You could up a ton of these in no time.  A little bit of paper, some scrap trim , a mini tag, and fill up with candy ... BAM! You are done!

Diaper Bag: Pink & Brown

I am super excited that my cousin is finally having a baby girl! She currently has two boys and this new little girl is going to be the Princess of the family.  I made a pink and brown diaper bag to go with the baby’s color scheme.

I know everyone is always wanting a tutorial … But I stink at tutorials.  However, I like to use patterns instead of following someone else’s tutorial.  Once I master the pattern, then I modify the pattern to my specifications.

Flower Cupcake Toppers

One more cupcake for the road ….

I made these cupcake toppers using Grafix’s vellum … For some reason their vellum cuts a 100% better than any other vellum that I have tried to put through my Cricut. I layered the topper with cardstock and the vellum. Bent up the petals a little bit for a 3D effect.

Scrabble Tiles & Idea Words

It seems that Scrabble tiles are all the rage these days.  I heart them too!  I picked up this “Queen Bee” Scrabble tile holder at the {ROUND TOP ANTIQUES FAIR} this last spring- super fabulous place! If you live in Texas, you should make the trip this Fall.  The tiles are actually glued onto the Scrabble holder tray.  I have this sitting on my desk at work and there isn’t a day that doesn’t go by that I don’t get a comment on it.  This is such a great gift idea.  Cheap too!

Below the picture is a list of words that can fit onto the Scrabble tile tray.  I didn’t copy this list.  I actually thought of it on my own.  LOL  I have to much time on my hands!

Mini Fall Burlap Banner

I am so really for fall! I love the cooler weather, Fightin’ Texas Aggie football and the holidays that are coming up.  I was whipping up a custom burlap banner just like my {SWEETS BANNER} and for some reason, burlap makes me think of fall.  Since my creative juices where flowing, I decided to whip up a mini fall banner.  I’m not to sure where I am going to hang it but I’m sure I can find a place … Possibly on my living room armoire.

PERSONALIZED CUPCAKE TOPPER

Homemade cupcakes. Cupcake toppers were made with my Cricut and circle punch. Purchased the cupcake wrappers at Micheal's and then glued on the flower.
