Halloween Cards :: EEK

Are you ready for Halloween?!  I have my Halloween projects going on and I feel so ahead of that game, that I have decided to host a pumpkin carving party! Cute idea, right?  Nothing major, just having a few people over to carve pumpkins and eat a few snacks.
Last year I purchased the EK Success pennant punch and I just HAD to use it on my Halloween cards.  I am in love with this punch --- I want to put these little pennants on everything.  The punch was great for the cards and turned out to be the perfect size.

Last year, I didn't have a Halloween wreath .... What is wrong with me?!  However, I do have one in the works for this year.  Since I didn't have a Halloween wreath, I added a simple wooden bat and a simple sign to my existing wreath. ((I made that sign too ... Apparently, I never blogged about it?! Oops!))

More Halloween Banners

I whipped up two more Halloween banners this year! Halloween sure did sneak up on me this year! I was rockin' and rollin' on getting a few banners done but time got away from me and I barely got out my decorations in enough time!

Halloween Banners :: Houndstooth and Book Pages

Paper crafting is my first love when it comes to crafting; however, I think I am better seamstress than scrapbooker/paper crafter.  Making new Halloween banners is on my to do list for this year.  I made one for my boyfriend's sister and a simple one for him.  One more for me and I can cross it off my to do list!

Don't you just love the houndstooth?! One of my favorite all time prints.  The houndstooth on this banner isn't paper it is fabric.  The printed papers and everything else is from my favorite store, Hobby Lobby.

Isn't this a cool picture! Thanks to the Texas heat and humidity,
my camera fogged up during this shot.  How fitting for the picture!

I decided to make the boyfriend a simple banner for his house.
Of course, he told me it was too girly to hang in his house; I hung it anyway.
I was trying to fit his taste by using book pages since he is quite nerdy and likes to read a lot.

Halloween Upcycled Ceiling Tile

I purchased a several ceiling tiles a few years ago and FINALLY had a chance to do something with them .... Well, only one of them.   I knew I wanted to use them for Halloween and Christmas, and I decided to use the {PAPER WREATH} idea to mix in with the ceiling tile for a cute Halloween decoration.  Need paper wreath instructions?  You can find some {HERE}.

"Because of Who You Are" Signs

I made these two signs for a friend of mine that works in the same industry as me.  The quote is actually from a song.  My friend said that her and her daughter sing this song to each other; so I made one for her and one for her daughter.  How sweet? Right?  I think they tured out fabulous & I really like the quote.

Simple piece of wood from Home Depot.  Purchase pre cut, add paint and then adhere your vinyl.  I was thinking about adding a big piece of burlap ribbon for hanging, but I just couldn't decide.  I didn't want it to take away from the words and I am unsure how that might look with my friend's home decor.

Valentine’s Day Cards

Paper crafting is my first love; although, it appears I am a better seamstress than paper crafter.  Usually I get together with my Mom and we make our cards together.  I always like to see what she comes up with because our styles are so different.  However, it never fails, we always end up buying some of the same exact supplies and don't even know it until we see each other.  She will see the look on my face and we will just laugh.

I purchased the pendant punch from {PAPER ISSUES}; LOVE LOVE LOVE this punch!  I feel the need to punch out a million pendants; string them into banners and place them all over my house!  Everything else that I used in the cards came from Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree; a whole bag of glitter hearts for $1!! I couldn’t pass it up! I come up with a few designs and then mass produce; I think I made about 20-25 cards.  (So bummed, forgot to take pictures of my Mom’s cards.)

Valentine’s Day Banner

I was really getting stoked for Valentine’s Day this year; I think it was due to the fact that I had a reason to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year … Or so I thought.  So that boyfriend, I have recently mentioned a few times- he’s no longer my boyfriend.  Kinda bummed & sad about it;  I really liked the guy (and had some awesome crafty Valentine’s Day gifts that I wanted to make for him).  Oh well, live, learn, grow and move on.  I’m just one step closer to what God has in store for me next.

Any who, I saw this idea from {SIMPLE AS THAT} and knew I could whip up quite a few of these for some friends and family.  Basically a $1 project (for 6 or 7 banners!); I only had to purchase the book from the dollar store and I used up scrap Valentine paper for the hearts.
